Important information before installing the Bot on Slack

  • Before installing the bot on Slack, users need to be registered on Happyforce.

  • It is important to know that the email used to register users on Happyforce must match the email used for Slack. If the emails do not match, the bot will not be installed for that user.

Steps to Install the Bot:

Remember you need to be an administrator on Slack to complete these steps:

1. Installing the Bot:

You have two options to install the bot.

  • From Slack:

Directly from Slack, in the left menu, go to "Add Apps" and search for "Happyforce."

Whether you choose the first option or the second, you will be directed to a screen asking for permission to install the Happyforce bot in your Slack workspace.

Once you grant access, the bot will be installed for all members of the organization. Congratulations! 👏

2. Choose where to receive feedback

In addition to the steps mentioned, you can configure a Slack channel to receive public comments posted by employees from both the Happyforce App and Slack itself.

To do this, as a Slack administrator, go to the "Home" tab of the bot and click Setup:

After that, select the channel in your Slack account where you want the comments to be displayed.

Important: Once this step is completed, you need to add Happyforce to the channel to allow it permission to post comments.

To do this, go to the channel you previously choose, and click at the top to get channel details:

In the window that appears, select "Integrations" and add Happyforce by clicking on "Add apps".

After that, the installation will be completed.

What if only a part of my organization is going to use Happyforce?

In this case, even though the bot is installed for everyone in the organization, it will only appear to those who are invited to Happyforce. The rest of the people will not be disturbed and will not have the bot in their Slack workspace.

What if I want to add a new person to Happyforce and use the Slack bot?

Our bot searches for new users invited to Happyforce every day at 9:00 AM. If it finds new users, it will greet them, and the bot will be installed automatically.

For example, if you invite new users to Happyforce today at 5:00 PM, the bot will not send them a greeting or be installed until the next day. This process is automatic, and you do not need to take any action.

If you want to know how it works, we explain it in this article.
