Comment threads let you reply to any comment in the timeline. They're the most direct way to move a conversation forward without taking it out of the original feedback: whoever commented gets context, and the rest of the company sees that their feedback has been heard. 💬
🗣️ Who can reply?
As an admin, you choose between three options, and they apply to the whole organization:
No one (turn threads off): threads are disabled and nobody can reply to timeline comments.
All users: anyone can reply to comments, and can reply to as many different comments as they like on the same day.
Managers and admins only: only managers and admins can reply. Everyone else can read threads, but not take part in them.
⏳ One reply per comment per day
Whichever option you choose, each person can post one reply per comment per day.
Why this limit? Because Happyforce is a feedback platform, not a social network. We want threads to add context and help people understand each other, not to become an endless back-and-forth between two people. Allowing one reply a day encourages you to think it through before writing it, and that makes the conversation worth having. 🙂
One important nuance: the limit is per comment, not per person. If you have "All users" enabled, anyone can reply to many different comments on the same day; what they can't do is reply twice to the same comment within the same day.
🕶️ What about anonymity?
Reply anonymity is inherited automatically from the main feedback being replied to. It isn't something you configure separately for threads: you can adjust it in the Transparency section within each feedback type.
⚙️ Where do I configure this?
In Settings → Feedback → Comment threads.
As you select each option, you'll see an on-screen explanation of what it involves, so you can decide with confidence. Choose who can reply, save, and you're done. ✨
💡 A tip
If you've just turned threads on, give your managers a heads-up: one comment answered thoughtfully is worth more than ten quick replies. And if a comment deserves an official company response, remember you can also address it through Announcements. 🚀
